Traditional Music

Instruments and Singing

Developing generally during a week-end, starting on Saturday morning.

The experience of a two days intensive course we propose is the best either for beginners and advanced students, since they can improve their techniques with the presence of the teacher to avoid or correct the most common mistakes.

Is proposed a chronological-geographical description of traditional music, from the Middle ages to contemporary compositions, through France, Germany and Great Britain, with Italian songs and instruments as an important beginning point.

Hystorical and Geographical background of the songs involved - First vocal exercises (breathing, phonation, sound pitching, etc.) to start singing correctly - First introductory songs - Some examples of Italian ancient and traditional repertory - Evolution through the centuries of the voice and singing techniques - Advanced exercises, vocalisms of higher difficulties, embellishments - European repertory and its features, comparison with the traditional ballads of the British Isles - Guided listening to the examples of different songs on the live voice and through audio-video supports.
